DON’T CAST GOOD THINGS AWAY
The early Christians trembled before the Lord. It was recorded that most of them persisted with God and He used them to perform miracles. Most of the miracles happened through the use of the word of God in prayer. Their worship, praise and even shadow (Acts 3:6-8; 5:12, 16ff) performed wonders. The Christians were persecuted by the religionists and the power-that-be. They were jealous of the work of Jesus Christ through them. However, many people were still convicted and they became Jesus followers.
At the time, the power of God was made manifest while the ministry of Jesus Christ multiplied. In Nigeria of our times, great Disciples of Christ Jesus also arose. They too worked signs and wonders while propagating the Good news (Gospel). One of them, the great Apostle Joseph A. Babalola (The Founder of Christ Apostolic Church world wide) would only bless water to be used by the people for drinking and bathing and they were healed and set free to the glory of God.
Christians increase in number day and night. Despite this, most of them have painfully, thoroughly mixed with the world; many are weary but some still endure. It is shameful to heard that a Christian cannot move the hand of God in prayers. “Man was made in the image of God to rule over all the creatures in the sea, in the air and on the land” (Genesis 1:26, 30).
This thought pervaded my mind on day to the point that the spirit of God directed me to Hosea 8:3 “But Israel has rejected what is good; an enemy will pursue him”.
I read the verse for more than four times only to understand that Christians have lost great good things. Those are our weapons for routing the enemies of our souls. The early apostles used the same weapons we careless about today.
It is advisable for you to go back and operate with those weapons. It is then you will start to record positive change in your life.
THINGS THAT YOU HAVE LOST
The following are the Bible Reading:
“Do not let this book of the Law depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success (Joshua 1:8; Deuteronomy 17:19).
Many Christians have rejected Bible reading and chosen to read newspaper, play games and watch programmed video events. Radio and TV sermons have taken over so that they no longer go to church service.
But know it now that your reading the Bible will make you use its contents to devour those who oppose your progress in most cases. You can apply the fire (word of God) to consume all the structure of Satan in your life, work and home (Jeremiah 15:14). The Bible is also a research instrument; God’s power to give life, a word of teaching, it also cleanness (Heb. 4:12, Ezekiel 37:7, Deuteronomy 4:10). The only way to know more about Jesus Christ is through Bible reading.
Fasting and prayer:
“Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting” (Matthew 17:21).
Instead for you to fast and pray you eagerly wait for blessing and miracles to happen to and through you. At best you offer veneration prayers to the saints and servants of the devil for assistance. Do not expect miracles and blessings if you cannot pray and fast by and for yourself.
The apostles used the power of prayer to open the eyes of those in darkness to see the light and receive salvation. Prayer opened the doors of prisons and prisoners were set free (Acts 16:25-34). There is no prosperity, no blessing and no success without fasting and prayer. Therefore resolve today to do these so that you can gain what you have lost.
Authority:
“And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons; they will speak I tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, I will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well” (Mark 16:17-18).
Jesus gave us power and authority through His name to perform any feat we desire so long they are profitable. But instead to operate in this power you indulge in occultism, witchcraft and other evil powers all in the quest for prosperity and power and its attendant destruction. Whereas God’s power is a free offer and it’s reliable. It is the Original Power. You cannot serve two masters. Any power outside Jesus Christ is useless.
Holy Spirit:
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you” (Acts 1:8).
Jesus Christ came to this world in physical appearance like man and lived with man; God appeared in man. Before He left, He had promised all believers His Spirit which is HOLY. In Old Testament times, the Holy Spirit was called “Spirit of the Lord” or “Spirit of Wisdom” (Numbers 27:18, Deuteronomy 34:9). He is a free gift to abide in Christians.
This Holy Spirit has the duty of instructing and comforting us and He makes us to live a holy life like our God (1 Peter 1:16, John 6:16, Romans 8:14).
This world is war zone, and our Lord Jesus Christ knew that it is impossible for a Christian to cope without the Holy Spirit. At least we need to confront the devil and his agents. Therefore, Jesus fulfilled His promise to mankind by sending the Holy Spirit to abide with man (Acts 2:1-4, John 14:16-17).
We notice the manifestation of the Spirit in the following areas of our life:
· Help us in our prayers. With this assistance we pray only to be answered (Acts 12:1-11).
· All power and authority in Jesus Christ are transmitted to us through the Holy Spirit.
· We can make heaven when we baptized and led by the Holy Spirit (John 3:5).
Finally, I encourage you to earnestly search for and get all these things back in order to get and become what God had destiny you for. God help you as you sincerely do it, Amen.
