BELIEVER’S SPIRITUAL IDENTITY
A Believer has a blood covenant relationship with Jesus Christ –Eph. 2:13, Heb. 9:12; 10:19; 13:20-21/Lev. 17:14; Matt. 26:27-28.
This covenant is what opens the door to our identity in Christ and it is our identity in Christ that forms the basis for our authority in Christ.
Identity refers to our unique characteristics {how God sees us rather than how we see ourselves and what we have in Christ}! -John 5:26; 10:10; Psalm 82:6-7.
A believer who is ignorant of his/her identity will easily forfeit what belongs to him/her or end up struggling for what has been freely given to him/her by God –Gal. 4:1-9, 1Cor. 2:12.
Spiritual identity is ‘locked up’ in spiritual knowledge.
Freedom is inaccessible and worthless if the freed has no knowledge of his freedom: John 8:32, Hosea 4:6, Isaiah 5:13, Dan. 9:2
Knowledge of who we are in the spirit will help us in reality to ‘behave as we believe’ & grow spiritually.
Spiritual Identity entails Relationship with God, Inheritance and Position in Christ, Transformation through Christ, Privileges and Calling in Christ.
