Inauguration of Lagos State Royal Shepherds

Y o u t h   N e w s

The series of postponement that characterized the proposed inauguration of Lagos State Chapter of “The Royal Shepherds” over the years finally came to an end on Saturday  25th June, 2011 at CAC Agbala-Itura, Lagos Zonal Headquarters, Ile-Epo, Oke Odo, Agege, Lagos State, when the Lagos State Council of the para-military Organization of Christ Apostolic Church, established in 2002 was inaugurated by the indefatigable and visionary leader himself, Pastor EHL Olusheye, the CAC President (Worldwide) in the company of his lieutenants.

Not only that, the Launching of 15 Million Naira Appeal Fund for Coaster Bus and Office Equipments also took place the same day.

Present at the occasion were eminent personalities from all walks of life, including Prophet John Omogbo who stood in for Rev. Dr. Sam Ogedengbe, a representative of Lagos State Governor.

In his address titled: “The Role of Youths in Building a Better Nation", the President, Pastor EHL Olusheye expressed gratitude to God for the appointment of an enlightened senior military officer (Group Captain/Pastor Emmanuel O. Abioye) as the Lagos State Commissioner for the Royal Shepherds.  He mentioned his (Group Captain Abioye’s) gesture by donating a giant cup in 2009 as a trophy to be competed for annually.  He said this is worthy of emulation.  He charged the leaders of the Royal Shepherds in Lagos, with the cooperation of church leaders at all levels to work hard, expand and establish more companies of the Organization in Lagos State within a shortest period of time.  He said this is necessary because: “this new organization entirely belongs to the Christ Apostolic church.  Its establishment in every CAC District is very compulsory, and must supplant and replace all the other uniformed voluntary youth organizations previously existing in our CAC assemblies.  There should be no unhealthy rivalry, quarrelling or misunderstanding on this matter in any of our churches.  Officers of the Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, Boys Brigade, Red Cross, Man O’ War, etc, will automatically retain their ranks on conversion to the Royal Shepherds, and also enjoy other benefits.  There shall be regular training courses for all the volunteer adult leaders in order to harmonize the experiences previously gathered by the individual officers from the various organizations, for the sake of uniformity”.

The Presidents said, indeed, the role of youths is very vital in the building of a better nation.  For example, God used young Phinehas to remove sin from the camp of Israel, and thereby stopped the wrath of God and imminent destruction of the Israelites in the wilderness (Num. 25:1-8).  God used young David to deliver Israel from the Goliath and Philistine onslaught.  God used young Queen Esther to save the Jews in Babylon from total extermination.  Similarly, God is looking for Spirit-filled, self-disciplined youths to use in transforming Nigeria into a God-fearing, corrupt-free, united, strong and stable country both economically and politically; and this could be easily achieved if youths can eschew evil as people of old mentioned and surrender themselves to God to make use of them.

A plaque of honour was presented to the President by the newly inaugurated Lagos State Council to appreciate his efforts and commitment towards the establishment of the Royal Shepherds.
